GLENS FALLS -- A representative of Finch Pruyn & Co. said the paper manufacturer opposes a November bond issue that would fund the city's takeover of Niagara Mohawk Power Corp.'s electric facilities.
The contest over municipalized power in the city became more fractious last week when the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce decided unanimously to oppose the ballot item.
The proposal was conceived and endorsed by another pro-business group, the Glens Falls Industrial Development Agency.
